One word at a time

For a long time now I've been a writer. A purveyor of prose. A wordsmith. A...oh, what's the word?

And, then I stopped cold turkey.

I didn't have it in me anymore to write, to create, to draw. My well of creativity had dried up. Or, so I thought.

But, now there's a trickle. After years of parched desert, I now see the rain clouds forming. Filling up. A downpour waiting to happen.

I am ready.

And, I started writing again. Without burdens. Without "measured amounts." I will not write "so many" words a day. I will not set limits on my creativity. I will not make it not fun. I will make it free.

Or, I won't do it all.

Now, I'm writing my new mystery that's been churning in my soul one word at a time. I write spontaneously. It works for me. I may not be pumping out great literature, but I'm writing. And, now I can breathe.

Have you ever been in a place that is supposed to be freeing, but you find yourself stifled and burdened? Creativity is a gift from God -- Our Chief Creator. He created it all. He didn't fret over it; He just did it. He created the stars in the sky. He created their patterns so we may gaze up in wonder. He designed the leaves on the trees--every single vein and bump and crinkle. He didn't worry about if the vein was the "right" color or in the "right" place. My God just did it!

Freeing isn't it?

Lord, please free me to worship you, create for You, and to love You. May You free me from the past burdens I've placed on myself and allow me freedom to serve You.

In Jesus' name I pray. AMEN!!!!

May you be free in your worship of God today. May you use the creative gifts He has given you for His glory. Be free.

God so loves me

He keeps showing me rainbows. But, this one is so special. He showed me the purple in this one. My fave color.

Enjoy-

My First Project - With help from Jesus, of course!

I am so blessed by what the Lord is doing in my life. My everything I do praise Him! Amen!

My first project! First step: Cut out photo of the Jesus Mural.

Next: Wad up photo to see what it will look like.

I love the texture this created.
Wondering what adding some water will do.
Now I just have to wait for it to dry.

Friday Night Photo Tour

D-M-S 2010

Hey, everybody! I'm just now blogging about our Friday Night Photo Tour. It was amazing! God was in charge and the Holy Spirit led us to the best photo ops imaginable (as only he can!)

I've included a few photos in this blog. In the next few weeks, I will be incorporating several of them in my art pieces. Whatever God has planned.

I had so much fun doing this. God is so amazing to  me. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. I've been praying about my desires. Do they line up with God's will?

I only want what He wants for me. To be in His perfect will. God, you are so good to me. I love you.You are opening up doors and ideas that I could have never come up with on my own. I am grateful. Thanks, Dad!

Everything is a season?

Today, I asked for confirmation from our Lord and Savior regarding my new adventure into my creative self. Sooooo, he gave me a wooden recorder in a beautiful shade of green and the most beautiful storm clouds that I just had to take photos of. On top of it all, He gave me a rainbow! New beginnings. God is good.

For the photos, please visit the "What I'm Doing Right Now Is..." tab.

AND....He gave me these! I can't wait to see what He gives me tomorrow! Thank you, Dad!

Hello, fellow creatives!

I am so excited tonight. I've been reading this scripture over and over: Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 NIV

I've been wondering lately what my desires really are. And, most importantly, are my desires aligned with God's will. All I know is: God answers prayer, and He knows I've been praying!

Today, God gave me a desire to create this blog, and now I am sharing it with you.

He's given me a vision, and I'm venturing into uncharted waters. God has called me to create. To be a vessel of His creativity. I invite you to partake in God's riches as I boldly step on on this new-found path He has for me.

Mission 1: A Friday Night Photo Tour

This Friday, I, along with my hubby and dear friend, will explore strategic spots in Waco, Texas. I will take photos and incorporate them into some upcoming art projects, which I will share with you through this blog. Now keep in mind, this is all new to me. I'll be learning the intricacies of my digital camera (I refuse to put it on the "Easy" option!), and I'll be diving back in to photo manipulation all while messin' around with some spray adhesive and watercolors. It should be interesting.

I'm not sure where God is taking me on this journey, but I am all out! So strap on your seat belts, and let's go for a ride with Jesus!

Have a blessed and joy-filled night!
